The GUESS & Ellen MacArthur Foundation Project

Faith was selected as one of six designers to develop a sustainable denim jacket for GUESS’ menswear offering as part of a collaborative initiative with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. She designed and prototyped a jacket using dry indigo–dyed denim supplied by ROYO, a technologically advanced fabric that significantly reduces water and chemical use. To achieve a bleached aesthetic without environmental harm, the design incorporated ozone processing, eliminating the need for traditional water-intensive washing and potassium permanganate bleaching.

This project formed part of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Jeans Redesign programme, a global initiative advancing circular design principles within the denim industry. The collaboration challenged designers to pioneer solutions that reduce environmental impact across materials, processing, durability, and end-of-life considerations. Through this work, Faith contributed to early explorations of how global brands like GUESS can adopt circular design frameworks in practice — helping translate sustainability commitments into tangible, scalable product innovation.
